clean quiet reasonable price and friendly. I recommend this place and would happily stay again. excellent swimming pool. some items such as ice and drinks available at office
This was the worst motel / hotel / hostel I have ever stayed in Australia. The photos shown on booking were not the cabin I stayed in, the air conditioning was very old with an unclean filter. We didn't have electricity in the cabin when we arrived (it was 43 C).There is no wifi available as they advertise and the lady at reception was rude and unfriendly.We stayed for 2 nights, and due to a health issue we asked to stay another night and they tried to charge $ 99, when 10 minutes before the same cabin was on booking for 80 $ - after we asked the ad disappeared from the booking website - of course we didn't stay...I had a very bad experience at this discovery park - would not recommend at all.
It's ok place to stay on the outskirts of Mt Isa. I think we were unlucky enough to have one of the last units to be upgraded. They were in the middle of refitting and upgrading the other units which I am sure would of scored a better rating. The unit we had was out dated and worn but clean and functional. Again this was a little more expensive than your average motel etc but having a captive market they are comparable with others.
This is one of those parks you get to at sunset, sleep and then move on. You dont want to leave any stuff around whatsoever so you are still living out of your rig as if you pulled up by the side of the road. Our car was broken into while we stayed. After talking to an off duty member of staff this seemed to be an almost daily occurrence. A warning would have been nice from the staff when we checked in. Not only that there was a truck on site that lost control and went through a fence near where kids were playing.
Nice large pool. Main toilet block was spacious, very clean and easy with kids. Most of the sites are too narrow to even open your awning, however when it is quieter you can sprawl across 1.5 or 2 sites. Not a lot of shade though...
