Good experience renting with 1300 Meteor at the last minute (Rental # 30003223). I called to inquire about a vehicle on the phone on Wednesday for Thursday afternoon pick up for the upcoming long weekend. I was quoted a rate of $135/day plus taxes and admin fees but was not told about excess km charge until I finalised the booking on the following morning and actually received my invoice in the email.At pick up it was a very pleasant experience as we were shown all the features of the car, given information on how to deal with any emergencies, and shown how to use the 2-way radio in the car. I was also told that I could be dropped off anywhere in the city which turned out to be incorrect. Alison, the manager, later told me at drop off that they generally only drop off at airport on the weekends. However, she was kind enough to drop me off in the city when I advised her of the info I was given.All in all, good service, although I would've benefitted from a little more clear communication about total costs and pick up/drop off service, as I could've easily arranged for someone to pick me up after returning the car had I known in advance.Addendum: I was charged for the kilometres that the branch manager drove the vehicle to drop me off back in town. The charges only amount to a couple of dollars but what bothered me is the pettiness of this tactic. I declined several offers from friends to pick me up from the location because I had been advised by an employee that I would be dropped off to town. When I brought this up with the manager over the phone she spent a good 10 minutes arguing with me instead of accepting that her employees could have potentially made misleading remarks. I've changed my review from 4/5 stars to 1/5 and will not rent from them again.
